A lot of people would say they cannot live without it. It is probably the most popular snack in the world, amongst children AND adults. A supernatural pleasure with gentle taste and texture called chocolate. Its history goes back to Middle Ages where it was used as a form of payment, and for a long time it was frowned upon by Catholic Church for its stimulating effect “used” by Casanova.
It has been discussed a lot, what weight should be attributed to chocolate´s health claims. Eat it or not eat it? That´s a question. We believe if you have enough of a willpower (which in case of chocolate may be harder than it seems), you should definitely take some of it and use its health benefits for your body. Let´s see why:
- It contains high amounts of antioxidants – more than wine or green tea
- It contains fluoride substances which improve enamel resistance
- It has a dose of magnesium sufficient for a whole day improving our sleep and memory
- It has a decent part of vitamin alphabet – A,B,C,E, iron, potassium, phosphorus, calcium, and also protein
For those less happy people it is a great tool for stress management. Substances like caffeine, dopamine, and serotonin which are triggered by chocolate make you feel satisfied, improve your ability to focus, and give you energy. You don´t have to feel like you´ve sinned because of chocolate, besides its ability to caress our sense, it is also beneficial for our health.
OUR TIP: Hot chocolate with fruit and roasted nuts
